(organic chemistry) An organophosphate insecticide, [(dethoxyphosphinothioylthio)methylthio]-diethoxy-thioxophosphorane, that is known to neutralise the neural enzyme acetylcholinesterase.Examples: "The substantial polarity of ethion indicated by its molar refraction (100.1) probably indicates a strong adsorption on surfaces.
